Hi-res music streaming and download service Qobuz expands to six new countries: Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Colombia and Portugal.

The French music platform looks to take on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music and other music streaming services in Latin America and Portugal. Launching in 2007, Qobuz has doubled the number of markets covered just in the last two years, with recent additions including Australia, New Zealand and the Nordic countries. The expansion to Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Colombia and Portugal sees Qobuz in 25 countries total and introduces the service to 470 million potential music lovers and audiophiles.

According to the IFPI, during 2021, Latin America was the region with the highest growth rate in the music streaming market, at +32.5%.

New and existing Qobuz subscribers get unlimited access to 80 million tracks, with hi-res FLAC tracks available at up to 24-bit/192 kHz. You’ll find plenty of editorial content, human curated playlists and tailor-made music, plus download support for offline playback. Studio subscription are $12.99 per month or $129.99 per year. The Sublime subscription is a more expensive tier that also gets discounts to Qobuz’s download store.
