RouteNote vs Level – music distribution platforms compared
Level competes with RouteNote’s music distribution, but with no free tier, artists must pay to upload their releases to stores.
Level are the music distribution platform supported by major record label Warner Music Group. They advertise features for independent artists such as worldwide or regional distribution, custom ISRCs, custom release dates, custom label names, song credits, analytics, sales data, and payment through PayPal or bank transfer. RouteNote offer all of these features and many more to all artists.
Level distribute to stores such as Spotify, Apple Music, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Amazon Music, Pandora, TIDAL, Deezer, Napster and Anghami, all of which and many more such as YouTube Content ID and SoundCloud we distribute to for free.
Level offer a few campaign tools such as smart release pages and pre-save links. Both of these features and more are offered for free through our partner PUSH.fm.
Level’s Artist Support Team look out for content for their editorial program, which promotes content across socials, the blog and playlists. RouteNote’s All Access tier is designed for professional labels looking for account management, priority support and pitching assistance. Our moderation team are always on the look out for the next big artist. Those interested in RouteNote All Access should use our contact form.
After removing their free plan, Level only offer one tier for all artists. For $20 per year, artists can upload up to five primary artists while keeping 100% of the royalties. With no free plan, Level is restricting new artists looking to start their online career with no budget. With only five artists, Level is not suitable for labels.
RouteNote are an independent music distributor, free from any major labels. We proudly offer all of the same features and stores as above plus many more for all artists.
We have two pricing options. Our Free tier is completely free of fees, while the artist keeps 85% of the revenue. RouteNote’s Premium plan costs a small fee, plus $9.99 per year, while the artist keeps 100%. Our smaller artists and labels love our free tier, with unlimited uploads of tracks and artists. Once artists have built an audience online, they’re one click away from Premium distribution.
