How to stop Spotify draining battery on your phone

Many iPhone users are experiencing battery drain issues with Spotify on iOS 14.8 and 15. Here are fixes for most of these issues.
When Apple released iOS 15 last month, many iPhone users reported Spotify was consuming too much battery. In response, Spotify updated the app to version 8.6.64 last week, fixing most of the issues. If you are experiencing battery drain issues on your iPhone, head to the App Store and ensure you are running the latest version of Spotify. If you are still suffering battery drain with Spotify on iPhone, there are a number of step you can take to make Spotify run efficiently.
- Restart the app and quit any other apps running in the background: Swipe apps away in the app switcher
- Restart the phone
- Disable Background App Refresh: Head to Settings – General – Background App Refresh and switch off the toggle beside Spotify
- Reinstall the app: Long press the Spotify icon – Remove App – Delete App, then redownload Spotify from the App Store
