Reply Dana Everhart on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm Please put the shirt on Dude! Seriously???? Reply Dana Everhart on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm The crack is from all the damn oops drivers (ups) and fucked up Fed Up (Fed Ex) delivery people. Thanks for screwing up my 2800 dollar guitar guyz! Reply Rob Arnold on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm Thank you for telling it like it is! In my opinion, even a single flaw is unacceptable on a "premium" instrument. Especially from a major brand like Gibson. It's a shame. Reply British BroDog on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm Why would Gibson sell a good guitar? Selling bad guitars is how they trick people into spending $10,000+ for an 'okay' guitar. Reply lacaz212 on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm “Half-assed” lol great review Reply HOUSE OF STOMP on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm I'm late to this party. Holy balls, I'd be pissed at the streaks, let alone the big crack in the lacquer on the neck. Seriously, painting isn't that hard. You sand, put down the primer, the base coat, layer on the final color, seal it, and polish the finish. It's time consuming, not hard. Reply Samuel « Loki » Villez on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm What if it was one of those Gibson made in the great east but minor finishes were made in the US and thus they stamped Made In USA afterward? Reply Merlin on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm unacceptble, i love the look of the guitar so much. 2800 is straight ridiculous lmao. Reply Jonathan Williams on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm Wow that crack is bad. I would keep sending it back until they got so sick of me they gave me an endorsement deal to shut me up. Reply Jonathan Williams on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm I love that guitar just not the price. I'd say it's a 1000 guitar bumped up because of the name attached to it. I wouldn't call it a bad guitar at all though. If I still played it would definitely be one of my go-to's for recording. Reply Ciaran Holdsworth on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm I have a squier affinity with perfect paint job second hand for 90 pounds Reply Dagger on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm One word ESP… Reply Shawn Lee on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm That guitar is essentially a reissue of the 84'ish Gibson Flying V XPL. A Flying V body with an Explorer neck. I had one. Great guitar it was. As for tuning issues with Gibson……i have 2 Les Paul's, and Explorer, and an SG…..and have zero tuning issues with any of them. I love my Gibsons. As for guitars with similar aesthetics…..my new Wylde Audio Blood Eagle Mahogany Blackout is an exceptional musical instrument! I highly recommend them! Reply Jesse Judkins on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm Dave?…Dave?…. DAVE!! Your signature Gibson SUCKS ASS! Are you gonna do anything about it Dave?! Reply clayton swearingen on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm dude gibson is having some bad issues with quality control damn, I ordered a Paul from a well know online retailer, was so excited to receive it, opened it up and the quality was aweful my freaking heart sunk, stain on the back of the guitar big nasty looking blotch, tool marks were the nut was placed, the binding was popping off the body around the neck tool marks on the fret board inlays popping out, at the end or the fret board were it buts up against the pickups looked like a 3 year cut it rather than a craftsman, i sent it back and ordered another high end single cut and was very impressed with the quality and the craftmanship on it, i will never purchase another gibson, i think the heads of gibson have lost their damn minds and think producing more guitars in one day is more important than the quality of their instruments Reply Lesgo Brandon on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm It IS set up properly… insanely high action is proper when you are trying to hide a crappy fret job. Reply Albee213 on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm 200 limited edition green ones sold out in 2 days. They were $2899.99 each. Reply Vincent Randles on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm No thanks Gibson, I plan too get a Solar V – with 10X's better features & at 1/3 the price! Believe what I say: they're just plain better guitars for the money than anyone else can touch!! I know this because I own a Solar A1.6 that is a full on Metal Monster! (Know your audience) And they do! All one has to do is get on their site, & see what is offered….. Reply Bruce Godfrey on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm Garbage played two both had neck dive and G string would not stay in tune. Garbage Reply Junk Bond Trader on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm the Chinese Epiphone factory does a better job on finish. That hairline crack is bewildering. Absolutely terrible. Reply Brett Gussey on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm I live in Australia and spent 2350 dollars on a SG and it was troubled from the start ,,I think gibson suck ,I feel ripped off ,,,I got offered life time warentine ,,,when I went for help ,no one gave a fork ,,,now I play a fender telecaster,,,beautifully, it is ,old gibsons are good the new ones maybe one in every 500 is ok ,it's like USA has become China,,,I would love to talk to quality control,,as the money i spent was hard earned ,I now see Gibson as nothing I dreamed of as a kid saving my money,,,at least my fender telecaster was worth the money, the thing that gets me most is if you get a dud gibson ,,,no one cares ,,, Reply Chris Lane on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm I’m old enough to have played Gibsons for decades. The company is like an annoying dude who keeps telling everyone how cool he is, until a few people believe him. They’ve released quite a few garbage guitars over the years (Sonex), weird stuff no one wanted (the Corvus), and tons of duds throughout their more famous models’ histories. There’s a reason Gibson is famous for its golden eras, because those were just periods where the quality control seems to have been better. Does that mean their guitars suck? Of course not, but at this point I wouldn’t buy one without going over it in person first, and I’d be aware that there are lots of similar options available at much lower price points. I own a couple of nice Les Pauls and SGs. I’ve owned true vintage ‘50s and early ‘60s Gibsons too – the company has always produced gems and junk. They mostly seem to bank on bullshit concepts like buying a “prestige lifestyle” type instrument, or rely really heavily on nostalgia for old models, and that clearly works for them. But there are much better options for people who want consistently great playing and sounding guitars than Gibson. When they do try to innovate, we get garbage like the Firebird X (better known as a guitar that looks like it was designed by Homer Simpson) Reply Gordo Mother on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm Science is a religion bro Reply Jonathan Thomson on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm Great review Glenn, although I'm really disappointed that you didn't play only Metallica riffs Reply Ryan Glick on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm I’m getting back to guitar and saw this video. This video tells me Gibson these days just can’t get there quality control right Reply Alexis K on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm 07:02 So, Glen, instead of exercising your consumer rights(!!!) and sending that guitar back for a replacement – or your money back – you VERY DELIBERATELY decided, instead, to make a clickbait series of videos ATTACKING THIS COMPANY. WTF, GLEN, you damn well know the highest quality can NEVER 100% guaranteed from ANYONE – issues/faults do slip through, but you – as a consumer – are ALWAYS protected by your consumer rights. That example at 07:02 – alone(!!!) – would have OBVIOUSLY gotten you a replacement from Gibson, or your money back – YOU DAMN WELL KNOW THAT..!!!!So, Glen, WHY IN FCUK DIDN'T YOU SEND THIS BACK ?????? Reply K2347 on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm Only fools buy Gibson. Reply Gurnavemerno on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm Half the ticks on the QC card have missed the boxes. Says it all about their attention to detail. Reply dphidt on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm I can’t unsee that now, Glenn. Thanks! Reply dphidt on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm I’ve never had a problem with tuning stability on my 86 LP custom. It’s been rock solid. As far as the setup needed, did you need to have the nut filed? The paint issues are totally unacceptable. Must have been a “Friday” guitar. Reply Matías Bahamondes on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm I'm still convinced Gibson resells cheap Chinese copies of their own products at a 2000% markup Reply JAF on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm Please for the love of god move onto the next point and stop talking about the paint for 5 hours Reply velascaux on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm 12:06Jackson suits Gibson for copy…The King V shape Reply Badrul Amin on September 15, 2022 at 2:54 pm LTD KH-202 review please!
