How Apple Music’s Family Plan can effectively reduce the cost of subscriptions to just $2.50, with individual libraries and recommendations.
Apple Music gives subscribers access to over 90 million songs, and 30,000 curated and personalized playlists, as well as other powerful features like offline playback, spatial audio, lossless audio, Siri control, lyrics view and more. While Apple Music is available on many devices such as CarPlay and Apple Watch, what does this mean for sharing subscriptions across devices? Apple Music has four subscription types:
- Voice: $4.99 per month
- Student: $4.99 per month
- Individual: $9.99 per month
- Family: $14.99 per month
A single Student or Individual plan can be signed in on up to six devices, however only one device can stream music at a time. If you start streaming on another device, the first one will be stopped. This is to stop multiple users sharing the same Apple Music account and ensures artists get their fair revenue share.
Family subscriptions offer multiple users a cost effective way of sharing Apple Music. Subscribers get up to six profiles, with individual music libraries and personalized recommendations. Shared among six members, this can cut the costs down to around $2.50 for each user.

Those interested in Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, iCloud+, Apple News+ or Apple Fitness+, should check out Apple One. For between $19.95 and $29.95 per month, up to six people can get access to Apple Music and Apple’s other subscription services.
